  How is the photo rejuvenation procedure performed?

A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated, and you will be given dark glasses to protect your eyes from the bright light. The smooth glass surface of the IPL™ hand piece is gently applied to your skin and pulses of light are applied. You may feel a slight sting, like the snapping of a rubber band. An anesthetic cream may be used but is seldom required. Treatment is generally administered in a series of procedures that provides excellent long-term results, minimal adverse effects and high satisfaction. Each treatment takes from twenty minutes. A series of two to six treatment sessions may be necessary, depending on the individual's condition.

IPL™ Treatment for Unwanted Hair

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL™) technology offers a gentle, non-invasive, long-lasting reduction of unwanted hair on the face, back, legs, bikini line or any other body area. A series of sessions is required depending on the area of body treated, and individual needs.

How does IPL™ Remove Hair?

Highly controlled flashes of light are selectively absorbed by hair-filled follicles lying below the surface of the skin. The absorbed light heats the hair, which damages or destroys the regrowth potential of the follicle. All without damaging the surrounding tissue.
IPL™'s unique design offers you customized treatment according to your hair colour, texture and body location. Any hair with at least some pigment in it can be treated effectively. White hair can be prepped 2-6 weeks prior to IPL™ treatment with a melanin spray. This penetrates into the hair follicle giving the pulses of light a pigmented target. To date the treatment of white, gray or blond hair has mixed, unpredictable results but IPL™ does offer an alternative to electrolysis.
